Self-Determination

Self-Determined people know what they want and use their Self-Advocacy Skills to get it. This training will help the individual develop a better understanding self-determination including self-awareness, decision making and goal setting.

 

Adolescence and Disabilities

The training will provide an overview of whole-life planning and what to consider when planning for the future beyond school

The Family Village

The Family Village is a web site for children and adults with disabilities, their families, and their friends and allies. Family Village brings together thousands of online resources in a organized, easy-to-use directory. The centerpiece of Family Village is the library, where visitors can find information on over 300 diagnoses. Visitors can also learn about assistive technology, legal rights and legislation, special education, leisure activities and much more.

What is MTP?
MTP stands for Model Transition Program. It is a grant from VESID to improve the transition process for students with disabilities preparing for life after High School. There are 60 MTP projects, 150 high schools, and 7 regions across New York State. Learn more about MTP
