Welcome from the Associate Project Director
Dear MTP partners and new associates,
The University at Buffalo Model Transition Program (UB MTP) released a survey to the MTP projects in April 2009 to gather information about how transition programs in school districts will continue the work begun under the VESID MTP grant. MTP projects across New York State identified the need to know what programs have been successful, how they became successful, and system changes that have occurred because of the transition work completed during the funding period. 52% of the surveys were returned and summarized what the MTP projects reported as their efforts in transition and sustainable programs.
The report went through the approval process at UB and is currently in our funder's office for official approval before distribution. Distribution to our MTP project partners is planned using the current MTP listserv. If your email address has changed, or you know of someone else that is interested in receiving this report, please stay connected by joining the CRS listserv.
This is the last UB MTP newsletter. We are proud of our relationships with the other MTPs across NYS. UB MTP has transitioned itself under the umbrella of the Center on Rehabilitation Synergy (CRS) in UB's Graduate School of Education. The training topics currently delivered by UB MTP will be available from the CRS. Please contact us for your training needs.
Sincerely,

Diane Vigrass, M.S., Sp.Ed.

What is Shared Work? "Shared Work is both a communication tool and a collaborative work space. It brings organizations, agencies, groups, and individuals together to communicate what is important to them, to learn together, to do work together, and to collaborate in addressing complex educational problems. Working in community enables these groups to seek out new approaches to persistent issues and to gain support from each other in implementing these approaches."

"This was useful because now I know the celebrities who have disabilities and go through some of the same things we do. Today was good."
