Overview

Teachers and transition specialists involved in IEP transition planning and goal writing. Career counselors and other individuals interested in helping students reach their goals.

 

Who

Special Education Teachers, School Counselors, School Social Workers, Transition Coordinators, School Administrators, School Psychologists, Paraprofessionals, Parents, Family Members. This teleconference is open to all participating MTP school projects. See listed participating MTP projects

 

What

Participants will

  • Gain an understanding of backward planning and its role in career counseling and transition planning
  • See the benefits of backward planning in creating transition plans that are student centered and goal focused
  • Create a framework for backward planning that can be used by professionals, parents and students

This training is limited to 11 phone lines, however, we encourage multiple participants to share a phone and an online computer to participate for this free live teleconference.
