Overview

The training will provide an overview of the disabilities associated with students and its impact on learning within the school environment.

 

Who

Special Education Teachers, School Counselors, School Social Workers, Transition Coordinators, School Administrators, School Psychologists, Paraprofessionals, Parents, Family Members. This teleconference is open to all participating MTP school projects. See listed participating MTP projects

 

What

Participants will

  • Participants gaining an understanding of the diverse range of disabilities within the student population.
  • School personnel learning about the language associated with disabilities and the labels that can be associated with them.
  • Participants learning how to distinguish between the disabilities and gain a larger perspective on those differences.
  • Participants learning how to assist students with disabilities transition to adult life more successfully.
