Overview

Work-Based Learning (WBL) is an effective approach to employment preparation for youth with disabilities to identify their career interests, assess their employment skills and training needs, and develop the skills and attitudes necessary for paid employment.

 

Who

Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers, School Counselors, School Social Workers, Transition Coordinators, School Administrators, Paraprofessionals. This teleconference is open to all participating MTP school projects. See listed participating MTP projects

 

What

Participants will

  • Gain knowledge of the components of Work-Based Learning (WBL), including career exploration, career assessment and work-related training
  • Develop a better understanding of Work-Based Learning programs
  • Review WBL program structure and implementation
