I. Customized Training and Staff Development
Center staff is available to provide training and/or training curricula design on a variety of vocational rehabilitation topics including: Supported Employment, Leadership and Management, Team Enhancement, Independent Living, Counseling, Marketing and Job Development.
CRS adheres to the following principles when designing training:
- Competency-based focus that brings “the right people to the right training at the right time.”
- Outcome-based curricula that identify best practice goals from the research literature, learners’ abilities, and measurable results.
- Innovative training technologies including multimedia, CD-ROM, teleconferencing, and internet modalities.
- Evaluation of the impact of training on workforce performance and consumer satisfaction.
- Collaborative partnerships with academic institutions and subcontractor agencies that contribute current research and “real world” input into training content and design.
- Integration of training into the overall organizational
climate, with attention to agency programs and goals.
II. Technical Assistance
Specializes in-house services provided to enhance outcomes and improve the quality of the services being provided.
Through the use of organizational assessment consultations, CRS will determine the education and training options that best suit the organization’s needs.
Examples of technical assistance include organizational development, program planning, leadership development, and service delivery processes.
III. Consultation
Working with the agencies, companies or individuals to address specific areas of concern through the use of “experts in the field”.
IV. Knowledge Networking
CRS utilizes low-tech and high-tech strategies for participant learning. The project web site provides fast access to information, networking and resource linking customers to solutions. CRS, at the State University of New York at Buffalo, utilizes a variety of technology tools including courseware, videoconferencing equipment and networks, CD-ROMs and other state-of-the-art distance education resources. Staff will disseminate an array of products and information to customers, including self-study guides, monographs, newsletters, and information briefs.
V. Research and Publication
The Center for Rehabilitation Synergy is committed to remaining on the cutting edge of the field. We welcome collaboration on research projects that enhance the skills and professional development of vocational rehabilitation professionals and the individuals that they serve.
VI. Conference and Event Coordination
No training seminar, conference or workshop is too large or too small. Allow our staff to handle the logistics of sites, speakers, registration, materials and participant accommodation. A worry free event is an excellent reflection on your organization.
